Yasin Ali, who lost nine of his family members in an arson attack on
his house at a Bihari camp in mid-June, was killed in a road accident in
the capital’s Mirpur this morning.
Witnesses said around 1:45pm a bus from behind hit him while he was trying to get in a local bus.
He was rushed to a local hospital from where he was shifted to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Doctors at DMCH declared him dead around 2:00pm, Syed Ziauzzaman, officer-in-charge of Pallabi Police Station, told This.
Sadaqat Khan, president of Urdu Speaking Peoples Youth Rehabilitation Movement, said Yasin was going to buy medicine for his daughter Farzana, lone survivor of the arson attack on their home.
Nine people including eight members of a family were burnt alive as locals set several houses on fire at Kalshi Bihari camp in Mirpur in a series of clashes with Bihari people over firecracker explosion on June 14. Another Bihari man died after being hit by bullets during the attack.
